Syd in swim class...

Syd is still in swim lessons. She has moved up to the Guppy level, which is the Intermediate Level for 6 - 15 year olds. Fortunately, most of the other kids are 7 and 8, so she's not too little. She is actually a better swimmer than all but one of them. Her teacher said she would probably be okay in the next level up, Minnow (the advanced class for 6 - 15 year olds) if we wanted to move her up. This is the top level they have for swim lessons at the YMCA. The only reason we're hesitent about moving her up is because we've checked out a couple of the Minnow classes and have only seen "big" kids. The youngest one we've seen looks to be about 11 years old. Though we have no doubt she could swim well in these classes and be challenged, we don't want her to be uncomfortable being the little girl in the class. We'll see how she's doing at the end of summer.

Here's a picture from her last Ray class (the highest level for 3 - 5 year olds) at the end of April. Heather, their teacher, let them row the canoe around the pool.
