Minneapolis Trip

I recently presented at a Central States Communication Association conference in Minneapolis, MN that went from March 28th through April 1st. Zack and Syd decided to go with me since none of us had been to Minn. before.

Here's Syd at the hotel in Minneapolis.

We drove there and to break up the trip a little we stopped in Elgin, Il to spend the night Tuesday March 27th. They had a pool so that's where Syd was until 9:30 at night and again at 8:00 in the morning before we left to go onto Minn.

We had a great time. Syd got a chance to swim everyday at the hotel in Minn., some days twice and we went to the Mall of America while we were there.

Here we are in the Amusement Park part of the Mall of America.

Here are Syd and Dad on the Ferris Wheel at MoA.

Here are Syd and Mom on the Merry Go Round at MoA.

We also went to the Aquarium in the basement of MoA. The next few pictures are from there.

While in the Mall of America, we also visited the Apple Store. Here's Syd playing on the Mac.

Syd also got a new bear (Safety) at the Build-A-Bear store in the Mall of America. Here she is giving him a walk back at the hotel.

We also went shopping at one of the largest Targets around. It was a few blocks from our hotel so we walked, even though it was raining. This is Syd walking with her umbrella.

Doing presentations with me were my good friends Fatima and Tammy, so they were there as well. It was great hanging out with Fatima, who works in my department but I never see (two opposite schedules) and really great getting to see Tammy again, who worked with me the last three years, but now lives in Wisconsin.

You can see Syd had fun with Fatima.

The last night we were there we all went out to a very expensive steak place (and I mean very expensive). Syd was so exhausted from the week of excitement that she fell asleep at the table on my arm. Poor thing. She actually slept there against me for about an hour before we finished up and went back to the hotel. I had to carry her the whole way back (about 10 city blocks). She's so cute.
